Williamstown: SEE Fund to host annual telethon and quiz bowl

The Mount Greylock Regional School District’s SEE (Sustaining Educational Excellence) Fund will host a student/faculty Quiz Bowl and telethon at the school on Thursday, March 13. The competition will be broadcast live from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on WilliNet channel 16 in Williamstown and again on Thursday, March 27, in Lanesborough on LCATV2.

Blair Dils, a faculty member and coach of the Mount Greylock "As Schools Match Wits" team, will emcee the Quiz Bowl. For each category, there will be two teams of three students, and one segment of the contest will pit the Mount Greylock "ASMW" team against a team of faculty members.

Student volunteers will be talking by phone with families and friends of MGRSD to ask for their financial support. The goal is to raise $5,000 to fund grants for programs at Mount Greylock that are not covered by the regular school budget.

All members of the Mount Greylock School community are eligible to apply for SEE Fund grants. The deadline is April 15 and the application and eligibility guidelines are available online at berkshiretaconic.org.

Information: SEE Fund Chair Kelly Pask at (413) 458-5280.
