Williamstown: Sheep to Shawl Festival slated Saturday

The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation will host a Sheep to Shawl Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at its Sheep Hill headquarters, 671 Cold Spring Road.

The festival is a celebration of spring and New England heritage, with local artisans and food producers, farm animals, and a focus on the region's historic fleece and fiber industry.

Demonstrations include sheep shearing, sheepherding, spinning and weaving, and rug-hooking. There will be fiber craft projects for children and adults.

Tickets at $3 per person and $6 per family can be purchased at the gate. Become a WRLF member at the gate and receive free admission.

Proceeds from the festival support the WRLF and its public programming. Information: wrlf.org.
