Williamstown Theatre Festival gala honoring Abe Burrows

NEW YORK -- Williams town Theatre Festival will pay tribute to Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning author and director, Abe Burrows, at its 2012 Benefit, Sunday evening at 6:30 at the Edison Ballroom, 240 West 47th St.

The evening will feature performances by David Hyde Pierce, Steven Pasquale, Kelli O’Hara, Greg Naughton, and Malcolm Gets among others.

The event will also include a live auction of exclusive theater evenings, travel opportunities, and one-of-a-kind experiences.

From his early days in radio to his Broadway success with shows like "Guys and Dolls," "Can-Can" and the Pulitzer Prize-winning "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," Burrows, who died in 1985 at the age of 75, is considered by many to be one of American musical theater’s major figures.

His son, James Burrows, is a well-known director of television and theater who serves on the Williamstown Theatre Festival Board of Trustees and is one of the evening’s Honor ary Chairs.
