Williamstown: Watercolors on view at Terra Café

Thursday February 14, 2013

The Terra Café will host a new exhibit of watercolor paintings, "Weathered Barns/Seasoned Farms," by Deborah Burns. An opening reception will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.

Burns, a Williamstown native, has been sketching the local landscape all her life, as the farming economy has shifted and changed. Seventeen paintings depict local farms and majestic barns in Williamstown, some active, some abandoned. Three additional paintings show scenes of South Africa, where Burns traveled last year with a choir.

Burns is an acquiring editor at Storey Publishing, specializing in books on farming, animals and nature.

The Terra Café is located in the Colonial Shopping Center on Route 2. Information: (413) 441-5310.
