Williamstown: Weather blog announces student writing competition

Thursday March 28, 2013

The winter weather blog, Greylock Snow Day, with underwriting support from True North Financial Services, is now accepting submissions for its first GSD Writing Contest. The contest is open to elementary, middle, and high school students in the greater Berkshire County area.

This year’s theme is "Snow Story." The story can be true or fictitious, but it must feature snow in a central and significant way.

Visit greylocksnowday.blogspot.com for submission requirements.

The grand prize winner will receive $300. Two runners-up will receive $100 each. Winning entries will be published on "Greylock Snow Day" on or around April 15, pending parent permission.

Deadline for submissions is April 10. Winners will be announced around April 15.

All entries become the property of Greylock Snow Day. Entrants retain all copyrights to their work. Greylock Snow Day will require permission from the author before publishing any winning entry.

Greylock Snow Day is a winter weather blog that is the authority in snow day, delay, and early release predictions for students in Berkshire County since December 2010. For more information about the competition or GSD, contact Blair Dils at bdils@mgrhs.org.
