Williamstown: WES students to participate in reading challenge

On Feb. 28, Williamstown Elementary School students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade will participate in the third annual nationwide reading challenge, "Read the Most Coast to Coast," sponsored by Renaissance Learning.

This national celebration of reading challenges students at all grade levels to join together and break the record for the number of Accelerated Reader Quizzes taken in one day.

The record for students to top this school year is 4,409,622 quizzes.

WES will be kicking off this event on Friday, Feb. 7, with a time set aside to "Drop Everything and Read" from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Everyone in the school will be reading a book during this time.
