Windsor: Ham radio operators to hold field day

Members of the Northern Berkshire Radio Club (NoBARC) will be participating in the National Amateur Radio Field Day exercise Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, at the former Kendall Airport off Peru Road.

The purpose of this exercise is to set up emergency radio communication equipment and to communicate with as many other amateur radio stations in the United States and Canada as possible in a 24 hour period.

The public is invited to the field and will have a chance to meet and talk with Berkshire County's ham radio operators and see for themselves what the Amateur Radio Service is about. Look for signs on Route 9 and on Peru Road marking the location.

This annual event is sponsored by the American Radio Relay League, the national association for Amateur Radio.
