Winter parking ban takes effect

Thursday, December 11
LEE — The town's winter parking ban is in effect now through April 1, 2009, between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m. for all streets in Lee.

Violations of this ban may result in a $20 fine for parking in prohibited areas, or a $50 fine for impeding snow removal. In addition, if the vehicle is impeding snow removal, it may be towed at the owner's expense.

The municipal parking lot off of Railroad Street, across from Hyde Place, is approved for use as "off-street parking" for all residents living in Hyde Place and in the Main Street apartments. However, those vehicles must be moved by 8 a.m. to allow the Department of Public Works to plow the parking lot.

Questions about off-street parking or the winter parking ban should be directed to the Lee Police Department, (413) 243-5530.
