With 17-hit attack, Pittsfield Suns win big on Sunday


LEOMINSTER -- The Pittsfield Suns pounded out 17 hits and Wachusett committed four errors in a 13-0 victory at Doyle Field on Sunday.

Kyle Singleton had three hits, two runs and drove in four for Pittsfield. He had one of three Suns' homers.

Aaron Plunkett earned the win for Pittsfield, striking out three and walking four over five innings. He allowed just two hits. Wachusett managed four hits on the day.

Pittsfield is back at Wahconah Park today against Nashua at 10:30 a.m.

N. Adams 5, New Bedford 3

NORTH ADAMS -- The SteepleCats scored four in the sixth before holding on for the victory.

Jose Cuas and Bryan Soloman each had two hits while Daniel Bick drove in two. Casy Brown earned the win, striking out two and walking two over six innings. He allowed four hits but no runs.

New Bedford was held off the board until the seventh when the guests scored three to pull within two. Anthony Mannuccia earned the save with a perfect ninth inning.

North Adams hosts Keene tonight at 6:30 p.m.
