Woman injured in Stockbridge motorcycle crash

STOCKBRIDGE -- A New York woman was seriously injured after crashing her motorcycle on Route 102, one mile west of Berkshire Botanical Gardens, late Sunday afternoon.

Around 5 p.m., Krysta Clevenger, 42, of New Lebanon, N.Y., was riding westbound with other motorcyclists when she lost control of her vehicle just before the overpass to the Massachusetts Turnpike, according to Stockbridge police.

The extent of Clevenger's injuries was unknown as she was taken to Berkshire Medical Center, police said. BMC officials say the accident victim was treated in the hospital's Emergency Department and later tranferred to Albany Medical Center, where her condition was unavailable late Sunday night.

While the road was wet from a thunderstorm that passed through the area prior to the crash, what caused the traffic mishap remains under investigation.
