Working to help our neighbors

Monday July 23, 2012

The Unitarian Church of Pittsfield wants to express our appreciation for the wonderful article about our gardens and eggs project in the Wednesday Country Fare column and your interview with our program director, Eddie O'Toole. This work of the Social Responsibility Committee was made possible by a grant written by our previous president, Gerald Robinson, and funded by the Unitarian Universalist Association.

We are very proud of the work done by Eddie O'Toole and the intention of the grant to feed our neighbors with quality produce and protein. Like many of our local churches and groups which have risen to this challenge, it is the dedicated work of many who quietly behind the scenes to help our neighbors live in dignity and health. Thank you for acknowledging this work.

The writer is president, Unitarian Church of Pittsfield.
