Youngsters sought for roles in Berkshire Theatre Group's 'A Christmas Carol'

PITTSFIELD -- Berkshire Theatre Group is auditioning young actors for its December production of "A Christmas Carol," adapted and directed by Eric Hill.

Auditions, by appointment only, will be Monday, 6-9 p.m., at the Colonial Theatre, 111 South St.

Auditioners are required to prepare one short Christmas carol to sing and will be asked to read lines from the play.

BTG is seeking boys and girls between 3rd and 12th grade to fill the roles of Belle, Tiny Tim, Turkey Boy, Fan, Belle’s daughter, villagers, Cratchit children, and to sing in the pre-show caroling chorus.

Rehearsals will begin on Nov. 26 and will be held after school, evenings and weekends in Stockbridge.

The production runs Dec. 15-30 at the Colonial Theatre, with three 10 a.m. student matinees planned.

There will be no performances on Dec.17, 24, 25 or 26.
