Olga Kim of Great Barring ton, a rising senior, and David Tierney of Pittsfield, a rising senior, have been named to the dean’s list during the spring 2012 semester at Salve Regina University in New port, R.I.
To qualify for the dean’s list, full-time undergraduate students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.6 with no grade below a B in that semester.
Courtney Nason-Farrell of Pittsfield, a senior in accounting, has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. To be named to the president’s list, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.
Marissa Dorothy Skutnik of Pittsfield has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University in Clem son, S.C., for the spring 2012 semester. Skutnik is majoring in management.
To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average.
Western New England University has named 13 students as Orientation Group Leaders for the 2012 Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) program. Those named include:
Maria Francese of Pitts field, a junior majoring in sport management.
Elias Venegas of North Adams, a junior majoring in electrical engineering.
During the SOAR program this summer, Orientation Group Leaders will assist new students in engaging the college experience as active participants, not bystanders. A part of the unique first-year program at Western New England University, the central goal of the SOAR program is to provide the framework for academic integration, to construct realistic expectations about the college experience, and to lay the groundwork for community association.
The University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I., has named the following area students to its spring 2012 dean’s list:
Briell Dzierga of Adams, Victoria Mitchell of Dalton, Rebekah Staubach of Dalton, Eric Streeter of Dalton, Christopher Boylston of Lenox, David Maggio of Lenox, Molly McCarthy of Middlefield, Dominique Grillon of Pittsfield, and Jillon McGreal of Chatham, N.Y.
To be included on the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.
