The Berkshire Athenaeum has announced that Alan Doyle Horbal, genealogist, will be presenting a basic genealogy course on finding ancestors using the 1900 through 1930 U.S. Census.

Horbal will be using various websites to find immigration information. These websites include stevemorse.org, ellisisland.org, castlegarden.org, and familysearch.org.

There will be two hands-on classes to choose from, one from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and one from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 2, 9, 16, and 23, in the computer lab at the Athenaeum.

Internet proficiency and an email address are required to take the class. The class is free and open to the public. Students are welcome to bring their own laptops for use in the class.

The class is sponsored by the Berkshire Family History Association and is limited to 12 participants.
