The seventh annual BrockTrot will take place Sunday, Sept. 23, in Lenox. This year’s race will start at 9 a.m. at the Town Hall. Registration opens at 7 a.m. at Shakespeare & Company’s Founders Theatre, 70 Kemble St.
Inspired by the life and untimely death of Brock Wilkerson at age 47, the race is held each year to increase awareness and raise money for research and early detection of lung cancer in non-smokers.
This year’s event includes a 10K, 5K and a community pledge walk as well as a 1 mile and half-mile kids’ fun run. Food, refreshments and festivities will be available at Shakespeare & Company.
New England Elite Class runners will be on hand to compete for the top prize of $500. The event, expected to draw 300 runners from across the country, has raised over $300,000 to date with all proceeds given to Dana Farber Cancer Institute Research.
Registration fees are as follows: $30 for the 10K run, $25 for the 5K, $15 for the BrockWalk, and $10 for the kids’ fun run.
Runners can register online at www.brocktrot.com.
