PITTSFIELD -- A city man accused of the sexual assault of a minor was held on $50,000 bail following his arraignment on Wednesday in Central Berkshire District Court.
Erick Ruiz-Trujillo, 30, of Wellington Avenue, pleaded not guilty to a single count of rape of a child under 16 with force.
Judge Fredric D. Rutberg ordered Ruiz-Trujillo held at the Berkshire County Jail & House of Correction on $50,000 bail.
The bail amount was by agreement between Assistant Berkshire District Attorney Rachael Eramo and the defendant’s attorney, Richard D. LeBlanc.
According to court documents, Ruiz-Trujillo is accused of sexualy ass aulting a juvenile in Pittsfield on Sunday.
He was held in jail until Wednesday when a Spanish enterpreter was available for his arraignment.
The probable cause report in the case was sealed by the court and unavailable for review by The Eagle.
A hearing was scheduled for Dec. 5, but the case is likely headed to Superior Court.
