Berkshire Medical Center’s Diabetes Education Program is offering a free series of educational sessions on pre-diabetes, with one series offered in December, and a second in February.

The sessions are designed for those whose physician has told them their blood sugar levels are elevated but not high enough to be considered diabetes, or for those who have been told they are at risk for diabetes.

The first session is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Dec. 3 and 10, in the BHS Diabetes Education Program offices, third floor of the BMC Medical Arts Complex.

A second series will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 18 for those who cannot attend the December sessions, also in the Medical Arts Complex.

The program will be presented by Julie Shepard, registered dietitian at BMC.

The programs are limited to 20 participants, and pre-registration is required. To register, call the BHS Diabetes Education Program at (413) 395-7942 or register online through the BHS website, www.berkshirehealthsystems.org.
