The Berkshire County Republican Association holds it annual Lincoln Dinner on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, Feb. 12, at the Berkshire Hills Country Club, Benedict Road. The dinner will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Members and friends who have put forth many volunteer hours for many events will be honored.
Matthew Kinnaman of Lee will be awarded the Sacco/Doak Award for lifetime commitment and achievement. The award is named in honor of the men who founded the Association in the 1950s.
Local singer/songwriter Mary Verdi will sing her rendition of "America the Beautiful."
The keynote speaker will be JinHye Jo, a North Korean defector. She, along with her mother and sister, were accepted for asylum in the United States in March 2008. Jo recently formed a non-profit non-governmental organization called North Korean Refugees in the USA (NKUS) that seeks to provide a support network, information and help to North Korean refugees.
