Keep it cool and feel the flow tonight as Pittsfield's Third Thursday event takes on an "Under The Sea" theme, featuring musical stylings of the islands and the return of the Upstreet Beach.
Festivities start at 5 p.m., and are free and open to the public.
Music includes: Berkshire Rocks Stage at the intersection of Maplewood Avenue and North Street, featuring young musicians from the community. City Stage at the intersection of North and Eagle streets will include performances by the Last Chance Band, the cast of Barrington Stage Company's "The Little Mermaid Jr.," Ras Moon & Monsoon, the KidZone Dance Team and Trio Candela.
The Palace Park Stage near the intersection of North and Fenn streets will have the Tropical Beat Steel Drum Band as well as gymnasts and breakdancers from Pittsfield Family YMCA.
Crowne Plaza Stage will feature rock and roll with Kardia & Friends. The Pittsfield City Hoopla crew will be on the St. Joseph's Parish lawn. Pittsfield Family YMCA will host the Upstreet Beach with lots of sand to play in.
Other indoor performances will be held at various venues throughout the downtown.
Empty Stein, a fundraising event for Alchemy Initiative will be held on Monday beginning at 6 p.m. at the Inn At Richmond, 802 State Road in Richmond.
Tickets are $35 per person. Attendees will get to choose a handmade ceramic beer stein to use for the night and take home with them. Steins have been created by area potters including: Daniel Bellow, Michael Boroniec, Ray Bub, Lorimer Burns, Gary Grosenbeck, Noelle Horsfield, Ellie Kreischer, Amrita Lash, Nancy Magnusson, Michael McCarthy, River Hill Pottery, Jackie Sedlock, among others.
There will be a silent auction, lawn games, and a dance party in the barn with the band Rock Steady.
Refreshments will be provided by: Big Elm Brewery, Wandering Star Craft Brewery, Furnace Brook Winery at Hilltop Orchards, Brenda and Co. Catering, Cricket Creek Farm, Green Meads Farm, Firefly Restaurant, SoMa Catering and more.
Berkshire Dance Theatre will hold its 2013 Wine Tasting and Silent Auction on Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. at The Orchards Hotel in Williamstown. This event marks the official start to the dance school's fundraising campaign to renovate the former Berkshire Cotton Manufacturing Company Mill in historic Adams. Located adjacent to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, the mill space will include four large studio spaces for the nonprofit dance company.
The Orchards will offer wine pairings with local foods.
Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple. Purchase your tickets in advance by emailing email@example.com and receive a free raffle ticket. Tickets are also at the door.
The WXW Tuesday Project will host a double-bill night at yBar on North Street in Pittsfield. The Tuesday night event features "high-stakes poet/charmer" Jon Sands with actor, poet, singer, writer, producer, and freestyle emcee Shawn Randall beginning at 8. Admission is free and open to the public; people under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
