Tonight at 8 p.m., the Berkshires’ own Celtic-influenced folk-rock band Rakish Paddy will play at Patrick’s Pub on Bank Row in Pittsfield with New York Capital District guest Bill Flynn. No cover. Cajun style

Need to spice up your Friday night? How about a taste of New Orleans-style Cajun jazz with The Colbys, featuring Bev Rohler. Music starts around 8 p.m. at the Lion’s Den at the Red Lion Inn, Main Street, Stockbridge. There’s never a cover at the Den, which makes it even better.

It’s a little bit country, it’s a little bit Christmas, and on Saturday night at 9:30, it’s a party with Whiskey City at The GEAA on Crane Avenue in Pittsfield. It’s a $5 cover for this holiday-tinged bash.

Also on Saturday at 9:30, Search Party, the new musical project of Jules Jenssen and Brian Ross, both formerly of Higher Organix, will perform at The Brick House Pub on Park Street in Housatonic. It’s a multitude of styles and electronica layered over heavy grooves.

On Sunday, get into the holiday spirit when the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center presents a free community screening of Frank Capra’s 1946 classic, "It’s a Wonderful Life." The film, starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, starts at 7 p.m. The Mahaiwe is located on Castle Street in Great Barrington.

Dottie’s Coffee Lounge on North Street in Pittsfield will present a "Holiday MANual: A MANly shopping experience for her (and your) pleasure," on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Let’s face it, guys are known to be last-minute shoppers. But all are welcome to a special shopping event feature chocolate, clothing, jewelry vendors and more. Guys can win door prizes from Moe’s Tavern, Trader Moe’s and The Garden. There will be a cigar vendor, with a complimentary stogie offered to the first 50 shoppers. Shawn’s Barbershop next door will also be offering last-minute shaves and haircuts for $20.

Afterward, if you’re itching to beat the holiday blues, be sure to check out Monday’s jazz night next door at Mission Bar & Tapas, beginning at 8 p.m., with Andy Wrba & Friends. This week, Wrba’s presenting "A Very Wrba Xmas" with guests John Waynelovich and Dan Holmes. The lineup also includes Christopher-Michael Vecchia, Leia Fleur Bibiloni Cardwell, Ben Kohn, Chris Lynch, Marisa Massery, Brendan O’Rourke, Darren OBrien, Billy Keane, James Burden, Allison Kara LaRoche and Conor Meehan. Wrba says, "This is also a very classy event so dress to impress!" Suits, dresses and Santa costumes are all welcome.
