find grace

The string quartet ETHEL has been a musical pioneer using amplification and improvisation in its concerts of original music and works by contemporary composers. The New York City-based group is comprised of Ralph Farris (viola), Dorothy Lawson (cello), Kip Jones (violin), and Tema Watstein (violin).

At 8 p.m. Saturday, they’ll perform "Grace," at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington. The concert will include a suite from the score to the film "The Mission" by Ennio Morricone; and movements honoring the 20th anniversary of the release of Jeff Buckley’s "Grace," his acclaimed, and, tragically, only completed studio album.

Tickets are $30 general admission. To learn more about ETHEL, visit ethelcentral.org. To learn more about the program and the Mahaiwe, visit mahaiwe.org.
