LENOX >> Shakespeare & Company is bringing back "Cry 'Havoc!'" to the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre for a limited engagement beginning at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Written and performed by Stephan Wolfert and directed by Eric Tucker, this inspirational story, exploring pre- and post-military service, runs in repertory through Aug. 13.

Tucker's production — which was presented last season at Shakespeare & Company as a special event — features Wolfert as himself, recounting his own experiences as a veteran. With the help of Shakespeare's most iconic speeches, he examines a story of military service that so often goes untold — the soldier's struggle to reintegrate into society after coming home from combat.

There will be a follow-up discussion with Wolfert after each performance.

"We are all connected to a military vet in some way and their issues are our issues, whether we like it or not," Tucker says in a news release. "You may enjoy (this) as a piece of theater and perhaps even as a tool for social awareness, but our hope is that it stays with you long after-- as a guide to identifying, appreciating, and nurturing the veterans of your own community."
