NEW LEBANON, N.Y. >> "Hello Muddah, hello Faddah," a revue featuring over 25 songs by Allan Sherman, opens Thursday at The Theater Barn, Route 20, where it is scheduled to run through Aug. 21.

Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday with matinees at 4 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.

Sherman captured the country's imagination when he transformed a piece of classical music — Ponchielli's "Dance of the Hours" – into a humorously woeful letter home from Camp Granada.

"Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!" became a number one song in the country for 10 weeks following its release and its author won the 1963 Grammy for Best Comedy Performance.

Conceived and written by Douglass Bernstein and Rob Krauz, this musical uses Sherman's songs to tell the lifelong love story of Barry and Sarah Jackman,

Allen Phelps is directing. The cast includes Ricky Gee, Amy Fiebke, Jared Sigler, Patti DeMatteo and Nolan Burke. Musical director is Matthew Russell.
