PITTSFIELD >> Town Players of Pittsfield is presenting staged readings Wednesday and Sunday of "Flowers for Algernon," a one-act play by David Rogers, adapted from the book by Daniel Keyes about a man with a low IQ of 68, whose life is changed by an experimental operation that makes him smarter than he could ever imagine.
Both performances are being directed by Thomas Suski.
Wednesday's reading is set for 6 p.m. at Claire Teague Senior Center, 917 Main St. in Great Barrington.
The cast includes Suski, Meredith Hamilton, Laura Gardner, Kristin O'Connor and Randy Lemire.
Admission is free.
Sunday's reading — for which there is a modest admission — is set for 2 p.m. at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave. in Pittsfield.
This cast includes Jerry Greene, Stephanie Disbrow, C.J. Morgan, Patricia Duckworth and Dana Grieb.
The afternoon will begin with a reading of "Phaedra," written and read by Richard Matturro, from his collection "Porch of the Maidens."
