PITTSFIELD -- The second city teen accused of Monday's early morning stabbing and robbery of another teen was held on $100,000 bail bond following his arraignment on Tuesday.

Walter K. Gadson Jr., 17, of Pecks Road, pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and single counts of armed robbery and assault and battery.

Police say Gadson and 19-year-old Solomon Jones III, attacked a 17-year-old stranger while he was riding his bicycle on Livingston Avenue just after midnight on Monday.

The victim was hit in the head with a gun, punched, slammed into the ground and stabbed in the leg and suffered a broken elbow, according to a police report.

The victim has been released from Berkshire Medical Center.

On Tuesday, attorney David C. Cafarelli, who represented Gadson at his bail hearing, said his client denies the charges and turned himself into the Pittsfield Police when he found out they were looking for him.

Gadson, he said, is a local teen who lives with his mother.

Judge Fredric D. Rutberg ordered Gadson be held on $10,000 cash or $100,000 bail bond. A hearing has been scheduled for June 5, but will likely be handled in Superior Court.

Jones is being held without bail following his arraignment on the same charges on Monday. His bail was revoked for 60 days on several pending cases.
