WILMINGTON, Mass. (AP) _ Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $936.2 million.

The Wilmington, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of $1.82 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.73 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.58 per share.

The semiconductor maker posted revenue of $3.25 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.16 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $2.75 billion, or $5.25 per share. Revenue was reported as $12.01 billion.

For the current quarter ending in January, Analog Devices expects its per-share earnings to range from $2.50 to $2.70. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $2.50.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $3.05 billion to $3.25 billion for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $3.11 billion.

Analog Devices shares have declined slightly more than 9% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has declined 17%. The stock has declined 16% in the last 12 months.
