ADAMS — Three people were hospitalized with stab wounds early Thursday morning following a fight in the area of Cumberland Farms on Commercial Street.

Police responded to a report of a fight just after 1 a.m., and when they arrived, they found the first victim suffering from a knife wound, according to a statement from Adams Police Chief Richard Tarsa. After police and rescuers did an immediate search of the area, they found two other victims also suffering from knife wounds. All three were taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with injuries that weren't life threatening, Tarsa said.

Their names were not released. No one has been arrested in connection with the stabbings.

"This is an isolated and targeted incident," Tarsa said in the statement. "The identities of those involved are known to law enforcement. At no time was the general public in any danger."

The investigation is ongoing police, and detectives assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office are working on the case, Tarsa said.
