Visitors under 18 years old can visit Berkshire Museum for free this year, thanks to an initiative honoring museum Trustee Elizabeth "Buzz" McGraw.
The "FreeBee" tickets were funded by donors who attended a wine gala last summer, according to a statement from the museum. The event raised more than $300,000 to support the museum's education programs and expand free access to all children.
The unlimited admission for youth began Thursday.
"With the museum's future secured, we are proud to throw open the doors of the museum to welcome in all of the children in our community at no cost to their families," said Jeff Rodgers, Berkshire Museum's executive director. "We are grateful to those in the community who have made it possible to give back in such a powerful way."
