State Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli and Arlene D. Schiff, chairwoman of the Lenox Cultural Council, have announced the award of 25 grants totaling $9,415 for cultural programs in Berkshire County.

Grants have been awarded to the following organizations:

Arts in Recovery for Youth; Berkshire Bach Society; Barrington Stage Company; Berkshire Lyric Theater; Berkshire Pulse; Berkshire South Regional Community Center; Cantilena Chamber Choir; Chesterwood; Community Health Program; Great Barrington Public Theater; IS183 Art School of the Berkshires; Jeff Gavioli and his Bad News Jazz Band; John Root's "A Celebration of Song."

Also, Mass Audubon's Trailside Music at Pleasant Valley; Music's "Hip Hop Around the World"; Music in Common; Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Art Show; Pied Potter Hamelin's "Creativity Builds a Better World"; Pittsfield's Shakespeare in the Park; Sara Campbell's "To Indian Territory and Back Again"; Shakespeare & Company; The Mount; The Stockbridge Sinfonia; Trio Candela; and WAM Theater.

The Lenox Cultural Council's grant funding is allocated by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The town of Lenox also provided funding to the Lenox Cultural Council for this grant cycle.
