To the editor:

We received a notice of membership renewal from an entity calling itself "The Berkshire Museum." However, inasmuch as the Berkshire Museum to which we had a membership no longer exists, we are not going to support an entity that pretends to be something it no longer is.

Regarding said entity's ludicrous attempt to heal the community breach by holding out an olive branch, it is a shining example of chutzpah, or colossal nerve. It is the equivalent of performing an unnecessary but legally sanctioned amputation of someone's legs; then inviting this person to a dance to celebrate the successful surgery. No thanks!
