To the editor:
As a long-time member of the Berkshire Museum, who continues to enjoy with my granddaughter the changes that have been made over the last nine years, I have been reading with interest the reactions to the museum board's decision to sell some art in order to move forward for the long term and be relevant in the 21st century.
I find two of them interesting: an art director invited to join the committee reviewing the health and future of the museum and making hard decisions but who declined because of other commitments now voices her negative opinion. Also, members of the anti-group who admit that they are not even museum members.
I have an idea: Let the naysayers work together to the raise funds to buy the art, purchase it and donate it back to the museum — a win-win for all!
