To the editor:

For the past few weeks I have been following the news of the Berkshire Museum. The more I read and learn from other concerned citizens the more appalled I am by the fact that a decision of this magnitude by the board was made without reaching out to the community.

If it had been open and up front about the problems two or three years ago I am sure there would have been a concerted effort to raise funds to prevent the sale of so many paintings, especially the two given by Norman Rockwell! Rather an arrogant way of doing things and lack of respect for the people of Berkshire County.
