To the editor:

We are writing to express our support for the proposed new vision for the Berkshire Museum.

Having served on many boards and commissions in Pittsfield, we realize how important it is to make sure an organization lives up to its mission and maintains its relevance in changing times. For unless an organization moves forward it will surely slide backwards. We are sure that the staff and board members would do nothing to hurt the long-term success of the Berkshire Museum.

We hope the entire Berkshire community can set aside its special interests and consider the wider purpose of the museum, which in our opinion is to appeal to the largest possible audience by providing an educational experience for all ages in the most state-of-the-art manner possible. We believe the new vision will accomplish this and more.
