GREAT BARRINGTON — A jury-of-six trial for a former town police officer charged with drunken driving will be postponed until fall due to the pandemic.

The trial for Daniel Bartini, 28, was initially set for July 22, but will likely be moved to a date this fall in Central Berkshire District Court, according to the clerk's office. The trial was initially set for November 2019.

Bartini, who resigned from the force about one month after his April 27, 2019, arrest, was charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Bartini was off-duty when he was pulled over by a state trooper on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Otis, according to the incident report. He entered rehabilitation immediately after the arrest.
