Orlando Grant as Rudi, Kara Arena as Sarah in Bridge Street Theatre's "East of Berlin."

CATSKILL, N.Y. — Playwright Hannah Moscovitch’s “East of Berlin” is a love story that plays out against the background of the Holocaust.

In Berlin, decades after the end of World War II, Rudi, the son of an escaped Nazi war criminal who is alive and well and living in Paraguay, meets and falls in love with Sarah, the American-born daughter of an Auschwitz survivor.
