CATSKILL, N.Y. — Canadian playwright Brad Fraser had no trouble saying “yes” when he was asked by Bridge Street Theatre co-founders John Sowle and Steven Patterson to write a play for their 84-seat downtown Catskill, N.Y., theater.

Sowle and Patterson had no trouble approaching Fraser in the first place.
