GREAT BARRINGTON — Close Encounters With Music is partnering with the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center and Classical WMHT-FM to present a Virtual Autumn Series — three concerts filmed live from the Mahaiwe stage and made available for free access.

The series begins 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 with The Escher Quartet in an evening of music by Beethoven, Brahms, and Debussy, followed by:

- "The French Connection," 7:30 p.m., Nov. 15 — works by Saint Saens, Debussy, Faure, Boulanger, performed by with Irina Muresanu, violin; Dov Scheindlin, viola; Mikael Darmanie, piano; Yehuda Hanani, cello.

- and "A Night at the Opera," 7:30 p.m., Dec. 13 — familiar and beloved arias from Italian, French and German operas performed by Metropolitan opera soprano Danielle Talamantes, baritone Kerry Wilkerson, violinist Peter Zazofsky, pianist Max Levinson and cellist Yehuda Hanani.

A link to stream each of theses events will be available seven days before the premiere at or @closeencounterswithmusic Facebook event.

"We are resolute and happy to provide performances virtually as a reminder of the richness and beauty that life should offer," Close Encounters' artistic director Yehuda Hanani said in a prepared statement. "I'm elated to be reunited with my friends and colleagues on the stage of the Mahaiwe and to share the bounty of Beethoven, Brahms, Boulanger, etc. online with not only our customary audiences, but also with an expanded public that defies geography."
