Japanese barberry, an ornamental shrub, is favored for its ability to easily be trimmed and maintained as a hedge.

Q: I don't have a computer any more so I can't look up things and live alone. I have a plant in my yard and I cannot recall its name any longer. It is a prickly plant that has green leaves during the summer and thru the summer has sharp prickers and nice red berries.
