Austerlitz Historical Society will present Ghent Town Historian Gregg Berninger who will speak on "200 Years of Ghentness" at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Austerlitz Firehouse.

The presentation is a fun, thought-provoking visual romp through Ghent's 200 years. Roads, railroads, hay presses, the county poorhouse, and cows all feature in the story of Austerlitz's neighbor to the west.

Berninger is a professor of English at Columbia-Greene Community College and the author of "Ghent 1818-2018: A History of Our Own."

The presentation is free and open to the public.
