Larry Parnass is on a weeklong reporting trip for The Eagle through the Midwest, where he is visiting the tattered portfolio of properties owned or associated with the Kohan Retail Investment Group, owner of the Berkshire Mall. His regular dispatches will appear on the paper's website through mid-June. Parnass, the paper's investigations editor, says the point of the "Mall Stall" series is to probe what happens in communities when Kohan-controlled malls fail, and to document what comes after.
