PITTSFIELD — Vicky Biancolo, of Pittsfield, has been appointed to the nine-member Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners by Gov. Charlie Baker.

Biancolo has been the director of library services at Miss Hall’s School in Pittsfield since 2006. She also serves on the school’s academic affairs committee, as a student adviser and as a resident dormitory adviser.

In 2017, she was presented with the Miss Hall’s School Unsung Hero award.

Biancolo served on the executive board of the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System from 2007-2010; the Massachusetts School Library Association from 2008-2011; and was a founding member of the Massachusetts Library System’s executive board, serving from 2010-2013.

Biancolo graduated from Skidmore College, and she earned her master’s degree in library and information science degree from Simmons College, now Simmons University.
