GREAT BARRINGTONVIM receives gold medal in Henry Schein competitionVolunteers in Medicine Berkshires has been awarded the gold medal in the medical category of the second annual Henry Schein Cares Medal program. The program honors organizations that demonstrtate excellence in expanding access to care for the underserved.VIM was recognized for its commitment to providing free health care to income-qualified, uninsured and under insured people of western Massachusetts. VIM received a cash award of $15,000 in addition to its medal.VIM Berkshires was established in 2004. It is the result of a collaborative effort by local medical professionals, business leaders and community volunteers. The organization treats approximately 3,500 patients annually. VIM Berkshires is the organization's only clinic in Massachusetts, and was the first to open in New England. LENOXWinstanley earns two ADDY awardsWinstanley Partners has received two ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation as part of the Albany AdClub's regional competition.The advertising agency took a home a silver ADDY for its annual hiliday mailer, which this year urged recipients to "Make America Grate Again" and included a tree-shpad cheese grater. Also earning a silver ADDY was a new logo design for Dadanco, a leading manufacturer in the HVAC industry based in Westfield. Both projects were completed in 2016.The awards were presented at Proctors GE Theatre in Schenectady, N.Y. All gold and silver winning entries are eligible to move on to the national level of competition that is sponsored by AAF.BERKSHIRESSVMC OB/GYN services now available at Pownal campusSouthwestern Vermont Medical Center gynecologist Dr. Malcolm Paine has begun seeing patients at SVMC's Pownal campus in Pownal, Vt. He offers the same services in Pownal that he currently offers at his office in Bennington, Vt. including screenings, prevention, treatment and prenatal care.The practice at SVMC's Pownal campus opened in October 2015. It is located less than one mile north of the Massachusetts-Vermont border.LEEPorchlight participates at nurses meetingPorchlight VNA/Home Care President and CEO, Holly Chaffee, and Springfield Technical Community College Director of Healthcare Training Development, Sharon Grundel, presented to health care leaders at the Organization of Nurse Leaders Quarterly Educational meeting at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. on March 10.The presentation represented the partnership developed in 2015 to bring an innovative approach to in-home direct care worker training, including the use of new technology. In addition to Porchlight, Berkshire Healthcare Systems is among the collaborators of this training initiative.
