PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield Parade Committee is seeking volunteers as it begins preparations for the city’s annual Fourth of July Parade in July 2022. The city has held Fourth of July parades since 1812, according to the committee, but the event was cancelled the last two years due to COVID-induced mandates from the state and the city.

Committee meetings are typically held at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Polish Falcons Club, 32 Bel Air Ave., Pittsfield. Meetings are currently scheduled for Nov. 17, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, April 13 and 27, May 11 and 18, and June 8, 15 and 29. Donations are also being sought. Each parade costs roughly $80,000.
