RICHMOND — Brynne Kennedy, a native of Pittsfield who lives in Richmond, was recently selected as one of the nation's top women in technology during the seventh annual "CloudNOW Top Women Entrepreneurs in Cloud Innovation Awards", in San Jose, Calif. CloudNOW is a non-profit consortium of the leading women in cloud computing. The awards will be presented at Facebook's headquarters in California on Jan 29..A 2002 graduate of Pittsfield High School, Kennedy is the founder and CEO of Topia, an HR software company that she founded nine years ago. She has previously won awards for her entrepreneurial leadership, including Entrepreneur of the Year in the Women in IT Awards, Women of the Future Awards and Stevie Awards, as well as London Business School's Distinguished Alumni Award.Kennedy grew up in Pittsfield where she competed as an elite gymnast in high school and made the U.S. Junior National Team. She graduated from Yale University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in history. In 2012, she earned an MBA at London Business School, with a concentration in entrepreneurial management. Kennedy splits time between San Francisco and her home in Richmond.
