Great Berkshire Scavenger Hunt
First-ever Great Berkshire Scavenger Hunt is the perfect activity for the holiday weekend. It takes you out of the house and into the wonders of the Berkshires.
The hunt is done in teams of 1-5 people. Teams get—
- a list of 50 Berkshire spots worth discovering and the clues to find them
- an opportunity to compete against other teams
- prizes and bragging rights if they win
- a reason to get out of the house and away from Zoom
Items to be found are in Lenox, Stockbridge, Great Barrington and surrounding towns.
The only thing teams need to participate is a smart phone (with camera, email, text), some puzzle-solving ability, and a sense of adventure and fun. Appropriate for families, neighbors, and friends of all ages.
The schedule is:
10 a.m. Items emailed to Team Captains
4 p.m. Final submissions due
7 p.m. Online awards ceremony
Winning teams receive gift cards for Berkshire cultural events in Summer 2021. In this way, the hunt supports local arts organizations.
The hunt follows Massachusetts social distancing guidelines. You set up your own team (no more than 5 people). Your team chooses its starting point, figures out the clues, and maps out its own route. It’s just you and your team exploring the Berkshires--no large gatherings.
Cost is $20 per team (or freewill donation). Register at the event website. Be prepared to provide the name of your Team and your Team Captain.
