Firefighters respond to structure fire in Adams after resident attempts to thaw out pipes with blowtorch

An Adams resident attempting to thaw out pipes in their basement with a blowtorch resulted in a structure fire on Saturday night, prompting response from the Adams Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the scene at 13 E. Hoosac St. around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, after residents reported smoke inside the house from a source they couldn’t locate.
