District attorney’s office fights dismissal of foster care manslaughter case. ‘I’m appealing and I’m going to win, DA says

PITTSFIELD — Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington says her office was right to prosecute two Adams foster parents for involuntary manslaughter in the death of a baby in their care.

And now, the office will press to overturn a judge’s dismissal in April of charges against the couple. Their attorney says prosecutors are wrong on the facts and that the judge was right to conclude that prosecutors were unfair to the defendants.
