Jury convicts Pittsfield man of assault and battery on a family or household member

PITTSFIELD — A jury has convicted a 37-year-old Pittsfield man of charges he assaulted and strangled a person last year, the Berkshire District Attorney's office said. 

Korey Laviscount was found guilty Monday following his trial in Central Berkshire District Court. 

The trial saw the victim take the stand and testify against Laviscount, a spokesman for DA Andrea Harrington said.
