Leader of Pittsfield Federation of School Employees arrested for incident with Florida sheriff's deputy

PITTSFIELD — The president of the Pittsfield Federation of School Employees was arrested Nov. 18 in Florida, after an incident in which she allegedly touched a sheriff’s deputy repeatedly.

According to a police report of the incident, Sandra Amburn, a Pittsfield resident and president of a union that represents school workers across Pittsfield Public Schools, was arrested on a charge of battery of a law enforcement official.
