Haiti People Refugees Repatriation

Approximate 170 Haitians brought back to Haiti from Jamaica by a U.S. Coast Guard cutter make their way to a processing center at the Port-au-Prince docking area after being repatriated to Haiti on Tuesday, June 28, 1994. The Coast Guard intercepted 1,486 Haitian on Monday equal to two-thirds the number of boat people stopped in all of last year. Thousands of military-tolerated killings and torture cases have taken place since the coup ousting Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide into exile, prompting many people to leave.
